Due to stricter emission targets in the mobility sector and resulting trend towards lightweight construction order reduce weight consequently emissions, multi-material systems that allow a material be placed right quantity place are becoming increasingly important. One major challenge is holding back rapid widespread use of lack adequate joining processes suitable for dissimilar materials. Joining without auxiliary elements have advantage reduced assembly effort no additional added weight. Conventional elements, such as welding, clinching, or adhesives, reach their limits due different mechanical properties chemical incompatibilities. A process with potential field materials an element using pin structures. However, current manufacturing mostly time-consuming can only integrated barely into existing industrial specific properties. For this reason, present work investigates production single- multi-pin structures from high-strength dual-phase steel HCT590X + Z (DP600, t0 = 1.5 mm) by cold extrusion directly out sheet metal.
